The Barony of Mons Tonitrus invites you to the
!! Greatest Show in the Knowne World !!
Join the Barony of Mons Tonitrus for a Carnival filled with Games, Laughter, Prizes, and a Chance to become this year’s Game Master and/or Barmaids Champion!
Friday Night: Come in, set up and join us for evening tomfoolery with our Sea Shanty, Silly songs and S’mores Bardic Sing-a-long ~ and ~ for the more BOLD, our Night Archery and Lightsabers events!
Saturday: Begin your day with the Royal Menagerie parade (where you AND your pet are in the show), and join in the first Southlands Kazoo Choir (at Court) before the day properly gets underway.
Marshal Activities: Fighters will show their best moves in the Bar Room brawl and Wacky Weapons scenarios. Cheer for your favorites at the Carnival themed Archery and Thrown weapon contests, and witness the first ever Siege Weapon, Knight target practice ~ just for kicks.
For the artistic: Get out your phones, grab a friend and strike a pose in the Instagram worthy Photo Ops areas, then join our A&S Minster as we present “WIPs, UFOs and A&S Sharing Time”.
Itching to roam? Get your game ON and compete in our Carnival Game Obstacle Course and Equestrian Hobby Horse competition.
Feeling peckish? Come learn the quick joy of ‘Camp Fruit Tarts’ with BMMT’s Cooks Guild, and then attend the Brewers Guild Class with Baron Gregory AND Mixology Competition with Madam Mariette.
And as your day winds down, the Carnival event turns up the noise, and Games of Chance ramp up with the Catapult competition for ‘Game Master’.
… And then, the Big Show under the Big Top …

- Location: Elgin Airstrip Group Site, Empire Ranch, Sonoita AZ (directions below).
- Site is Wet.
- Camping – for those with Full Event passes – Friday night and Saturday night.
- DRY RV spaces available.
- Pack out all trash.

Directions from Sierra Vista:
- Starting at Hwy 90 toward Interstate I-10, turn LEFT onto Highway 82.
- Head NORTH (RIGHT) on State Highway 83.
- Near milepost 40, TURN EAST onto the Empire Ranch entrance.
- Camping is at the Airstrip Group Site.
Directions from Tucson:
- Follow the SCA white signs to the campgrounds.
- Go EAST on I-10 and EXIT at Route 83 (scenic highway).
- Proceed SOUTH on Route 83.
- (approximately 18 miles to the paved road on your left, between mile post 40 and 39, watch for brown Historic Empire).
- Ranch sign on the RIGHT SIDE of the highway.
- Turn EAST (LEFT) onto the paved road and follow for 3 miles to the Empire Ranch House on your left.
