Attend our Baronial 🌻 Tournament of Flowers 🌻 and have the opportunity to participate in Tournament Fighting and Pageantry!

This is a VERY important year where first, we are holding our Baronial polling event at the wonderfully comfortable Cochise College in Sierra Vista. Second, we are bringing BACK a Silent Auction and Potluck (with a BONUS optional Cook’s Guild Competition!) ~ contact the autocrats below if you wish to donate items for the auction, or just to bring food for everyone to enjoy!

👑 Be sure to welcome our newest Crown of Atenveldt when you attend ~ come out and show the Honorable and most Gracious Majesties of Atenveldt your passion for the SCA ~ whether it be your chivalry on the field, your devotion to your consort, your skills at food preparation, or your love of the arts and pageantry of the SCA!! 💙💛

EVERYONE is encouraged to attend and participate in A&S classes or in one of our tournaments! Become familiar with the conventions of tournament fighting and consort recognition – with an emphasis on nobility and chivalry! Test your mettle against the brave and noble fighters of our lands!

🌻 Flowers will be available for fighters to present to their consorts! 🌻

⚔️ We will host an Armored Combat Tournament and a Rapier Combat Tournament. (Formats to be announced soon and will depend on attendance). As with our first Tournament of Flowers event ~ we plan to hold these tournaments separately!

✨ Rapier and Hardsuit fighters are encouraged to fight for consorts ON THIS DAY!!

🌻 If you do not have a consort, or someone who fights for you, don’t worry! You can pair with someone for the day. ~ Anyone interested in being a consort should attend ~

 💦 We will provide WATER for our fighters outdoors ~ a water fountain is available indoors as well ~ the populace is encouraged to bring their version of refreshments and shade coverings if they plan to watch the fighting outside – STAY SAFE everyone!

 🍗 We are bringing back the Potluck (and a friendly ✨ COMPETITON ✨)! We had GREAT success at the first Tournament of Flowers event with MANY tasty treats and savory delights! Additionally – Sierra Vista offers many opportunities to be well fed for the day with our local restaurants and stores!

How strong is your Tea Party game?

High tea snacks? Garden parties dainties? Medieval illusionary or subtlies to show off? Afternoon tea sandwiches? Goodies that are Mad hatter/Alice in Wonderland style? Sweets? Savories? Pastries? All is fair game – BRING IT!  

Rules:

  • Bring a plate of ‘finger foods’ suitable for sharing with all attendees AND and reserve 4 servings aside specifically for judging.
  • You will have the opportunity to SERVE the judges, explain your dish and inspiration, or anything you wish to add to showcase your offering.
  • Make a small card / sign with your Name and Barony, the Name of the Dish + Ingredients (for help with anyone identifying a potential allergen) to be placed along side your platter / dish.

Win Conditions: Judges will award 3 prizes based on (1) Flavor (2) Presentation (3) Illusion / Subtly / Art – AND – using voting tokens, we will announce a ‘People’s Choice’ winner based on the favorite dish enjoyed by the audience!

The last day of POLLING for the Barony’s new B&Bs will also take place in person on this day for our Baronial members.

To poll you MUST:

  • Have a physical MUNDANE ID (such as a Driver’s License)
  • Have a current membership
  • Be eligible to poll in Mons

Online polling will be provided to the populace of Mons during the week PRIOR to this event ~ to be open from 6pm June 21st through 6pm June 27th.

We are holding a Silent Auction once again this year!

🏺 We will have an area for the auction indoors at the College ~ and utilize paper-style voting in whole-number amounts. Some items will have a starting bid and some will start with what YOU decide! It’s first come first serve at this auction (and you must check back often to see how your bid is going!)

📝 Bids should be paid 1) with CASH and 2) ON SITE at the end of the event ~ our Exchequer will be there to collect your bid!

💸 ALL proceeds will go to the Baronial General Fund ~ help support our ability to hold events like this again!

Facilities:
– ON SITE: Comfortable restrooms + water fountain are available indoors with AC, limited seating for court (bring a chair), open grassy area for fighting with trees on the perimeter, plenty of parking lots relatively close to the doors and field, good ramps + sidewalks
– CAMPUS: this campus now hosts a series of dorms for students, who may be walking on site and wander up to our game – be sure to welcome them!
– IN TOWN: For those not local to the area ~ There are many options for quick food choices during the day, or even sit down meals at the end of the day. Shopping centers are also nearby, including a Walmart and Target. Construction is taking place at certain areas in town so be alert and plan accordingly!

Site Rules:
🚭 smoke in designated areas ONLY + NO drinking on the grounds (it’s a college campus)
🐶 pets must be outdoors + on a leash at all times
🗑 keep trash picked up and in garbage bins
🧯 NO fires or flames
⚔️ no weapons allowed on site EXCEPT SCA fighting weapons (rattan or rapier swords) and ceremonial weapons (i.e. SCA regalia weapons used for court)
🥩 NO staking allowed = please bring weights for popups!
📝 minors MUST have their parent or legal notarized guardian on site during the event
🧒 children MUST be attended by a parent or a guardian

Be Mindful:
– bring shade + sunscreen if you burn easy!
– bring a snack + water / your preferred hydration if you believe you may need it!
– bring a chair – seating is limited!
– paper plates + cutlery will be provided for the potluck
– restrooms + water fountain available ~ especially if you need to lightly clean feast gear or change in / out of garb
– this is a college campus with dorms, students may be about – welcome them!
