The Thrones of Thunder demand new blood!
The current Thunder Champions of our fair barony need rest, and wish to pass their duties and regalia on to the next generation of Champions in Mons!
To that end, we invite the populace ~ near and far ~ to come bear witness to those brave souls who wish to don the mantles of being a proud Champion of Thunder in the Barony March of Mons Tonitrus!
That’s right! Our Baronial Championships kick off in just a few weeks, and will take place over the course of these two days:

Be on the lookout for our donation box ~ with all donations going to the Baronial General Fund. A $5 donation is highly encouraged, but anything you give is greatly appreciated!
If you are not competing – consider coming out and SUPPORTING our artisans and fighters! We would love to have you come out, be inspired, and enjoy the spectacle.
Our competitors need cheerleaders and admirers!!
Event Details
- Entrance is FREE on both days!
- Check-in at Gate to show your membership status OR you must sign a waiver.
- Consider bringing cash to add to the donations box for the Baronial General Fund and help support the future of events like this one!
- Consider bringing cash if you wish to purchase from the Cook’s Guild bake sale fundraiser ~ Saturday only, at Cochise College. (Details below in the Saturday section.)
- Both Saturday & Sunday sites have good parking, access to restrooms, and provide water on site. We recommend bringing personal water & hydration as well.
- Prepare for the ☀️ SUN ☀️ on Sunday by wearing a hat, sunglasses, and/or sunscreen. Consider bringing a shade with weights (no staking on the field).
- Bring a chair on Sunday if you wish to rest while watching the activities and cheering on our fighters!
Declare for a Championship
In order to compete for the Title of Champion ~ you must first declare for the Title!
Guidelines
- Fill out this form to declare ~ so that we may prepare for your presence in the competition of your choice.
- Review the documentation requirements if you are declaring for A&S Champion:
- ALL those declaring for adult competitions must be 18 years of age or older.
- ALL those declaring for youth competitions must have parent / guardian consent.
- ALL those declaring must have a membership.
- For A&S: Have your documentation printed and next to or near your presentation.
- While ALL good ladies, gentles, and armigers are welcome to participate ~ only those who hail from our fair Barony, as well as those from the Incipient Shire of Vallis Aeris, may declare to compete for a Champion Title.
- If you desire to compete for more than one Championship ~ no problem! Fill out the above form again, for EACH competition you wish to participate in!

Bear witness as we acknowledge those strong in the Arts and mindful of the Sciences to compete for the titles of BMMT Arts and Sciences Champion or Bard of Thunder! (Please review guidelines and how to declare above!)
Capture Lightning
- Arts & Sciences: Display your creations in the Mons A&S Competition! (See documentation requirements and guidelines above)
Command Thunder
- Bards: Woo the populace and your Excellencies with song, poem, and merriment!
Bakery Funderaiser
- Cook’s: On this day ~ the Cook’s Guild of our fair Barony has offered to provide a fundraiser ~ bakery style goodies in exchange for monetary donations to the Baronial general fund!
Come be inspired and support our artists as they spread beauty in our fair Barony!
Sunday, July 20th
Arbenz Field
Come support our fighters on the fields and the ranges while they display their martial prowess at this glorious event! (Please review guidelines and how to declare above!)
- Archery: The archers of Mons Tonitrus keep our enemies at a safe distance, but ONE will shoot farther and truer than the others this day!
- Youth Archery: We encourage the youth of Mons to participate in a fun archery shoot in the name of Youth Baronial Archery Champion! Come claim the title from our former Champion!
- Thrown Weapons: Our mighty warriors will hurl javelins, axes and the mighty atlatl at ANY stalwart foe who survives the onslaught of arrows!
- Hardsuit & Rapier: Lastly, our fearsome foot soldiers, clad in armor and armed with rapier, shall dispatch the rest!
Attend this day of martial tournaments to see who will be the next Baronial Archery, Youth Archery, Thrown Weapons, Baron’s Armored or Baroness’ Rapier Champions!
