A Message from your Barmaids Champion!
Barmaids is coming up and with it comes the Barmaids Competition!
I’m really looking forward to running it. I have lots of events planned and I’d like to share
a little information with you so you can prepare!
I have decided to base the 2026 Barmaids competition loosely on the show Taskmaster.
It’s available on YouTube. Go ahead and watch a few episodes! In Taskmaster, the first task on each episode is to bring in a prize that fits the week’s criteria. At the end of the episode the winner gets all the prizes.
So, for anyone who wants to enter the Barmaids competition, your first task will be to bring the thing you most want to see at Barmaids. You may spend no more than twenty dollars. (I’m looking for white elephant style prizes). And YES, the winner for this year will get to keep all the prizes!
Another task will be a One-Minute Bardic. Contestants will have to do some sort of
bardic performance, but they will only have one minute for their pieces.
Get your bardic skits ready!
AND, one of the events will involve gelatin, so things may get slightly sticky. Other events will involve water. This water will be dyed with food coloring so we can see it. This dyed
water may stain. Keep that in mind when selecting your skirt and bodice!!
I plan to have supplies prepared for ten contestants. I hope to be able to use them all!

Finally: As Champion, you will be tasked with running the competition for next year! Stay tuned for the new autocrats, and start percolating those fun ideas for all!
