Mace and Great Sword + Mons Investiture, 2025

Mace & Greatsword

Mons Tonitrus Anniversary + Investiture and Celebration!

Thirty six years ago, from the mighty Thunder Mountains rose to the south the protectors of our Kingdom’s southern border, the Barony March of Mons Tonitrus!

On August 22nd-24th, 2025, we will PROUDLY gather in celebration of another year of progress, another year of fellowship, and our love of all those in our chosen family as we welcome our most worthy, new Baron and Baroness of Mons Tonitrus into this circle.

We also look to our own good works and wish to take time to celebrate the hard work and grace of our current Baron and Baroness, and to celebrate the achievements, hard work and growth of the incipient Shire of Vallis Aeris!

So, come out and celebrate with us – all while camping, having fellowship & merrymaking with comrades from near and from afar – in the beautiful wilds of Sonoita, Arizona at Empire Ranch site.

– We will hold our traditional Armored and Rapier tournaments –

Mace & Greatsword is a mass weapons only tournament in which the overall victor receives the annual PRIZE MACE to add to their personal armory. Anyone can participate in our prize mace tournament!

Mons and Shire of Vallis Aeris folks ONLY: The top performing (declared) hardsuit fighter becomes the next Baroness’ Armored Combat Champion, and will help run the following year’s tournament!

The 11th annual Longsword Tournament is a Cut & Thrust, sword-in-two-hands only tournament in which the victor receives a functional PRIZE LONGSWORD. Anyone can participate in our Cut & Thrust Tournament for the prize longsword!

Mons and Shire of Vallis Aeris folks ONLY: The top performing (declared) cut & thrust fighter becomes the next Baron’s Cut & Thrust Champion, and will help run the following year’s tournament!

But wait…there’s more!

Regalia and Pageantry will be in HIGH tilt ~ as with the pomp and circumstance of the Farewell Court of our most beloved Baron Nathaniel and Baroness Swetiua (Sweety) ~ AND excitement of the things to come as our leadership reins are passed to Baron Daniel and Baroness Keterlin (Kattra). Plus, tune in for potentially exciting updates for our neighbors in the growing Incipient Shire of Vallis Aeris.

Lord Daniel & Lady Kattra ~ Next Baron & Baroness of the Barony March of Mons Tonitrus

Our Bardic will be focused on Kingdom and Baronial music, with a Baronial ‘Birthday celebration’ ~ hosted by the BMMT Cooks Guild.

Archery and Thrown Weapons will host fun ‘Protect the Crown & Coronet’ themed events to keep you on the move.

The event will culminate in an explosion of hospitality of food and drink as a host of good souls create a tapas/charcuterie spread + dessert bar under the STARS.

Lifting your spirits we will have an open bar and live music, then refill your cups with the merriment of time spent with true friends and chosen family around the Baronial Fire Pit!

This is a celebration of US, of our achievements, our progress, our friendships, and our will to never give up on each other or The Dream.
